Shelly Major | Office Manager
Shelly is a native of the Dent County/Salem area. She is married to David and has two grown children, and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves being a Nana. She also enjoys Camping with friends and family.
Shelly has been in the Dental field for 30 years working in General Dentistry. She completed a Dental Assisting program and also has earned her Expand Function Certification. She has worked in the administrative field of dentistry for 15 years.
Candice Chowning | RDH
Candice graduated in 2008 from Ozarks Technical Community College where she received a degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a dental assistant during the summers while in high school and fell in love with the practice of dentistry. Working at Cartwright Dental since 2008 has allowed Candice to provide quality dental care and grow her relationships with the patients. Candice is very happy to become part of the Merica Family Dental team and to continue providing excellent care to patients. She is looking forward to helping her patients achieve happy and healthy smiles!
Candice is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan, and they reside in Mountain View, MO, where they grew up. They have three children whom are the light of their lives. Avary is the oldest and Aliya and Eli are twin toddlers. Candice enjoys spending time and caring for her family, being outdoors, going to sporting events, reading, and landscaping.
Hannah Drake | Dental Assistant
Since she graduated in 2008 from Republic H.S., Hannah knew that she wanted a career in the dental field. She completed a Dental Assistant program in 2011 and is now an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) which she received from OTC in Springfield. She enjoys helping patients with all their dental needs and working chair side to help answer any questions and educate patients on their own oral healthcare.
In her free time, she loves spending quality time with her daughter and blended family. Together they enjoy the lake, camping, shopping, cheering for their children at sporting events, random surprise adventures, and most importantly; laughing together and serving God. She looks forward to meeting you and building a special friendship together.
Sandra Leidy | RDH
Sandra, our part time dental hygienist, came to Cabool in 2016 from Round Rock, Texas, where she practiced for 17 years. Sandra’s hobbies include quilting, gardening,and hiking. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, who live next door, and her husband, Joe.
Sandra is excited to be part of our team, and looks forward to meeting new people!
Robin Rice | Dental Assistant
Robin lives in Summersville, MO. She loves being a dental assistant and helping patients maintain and achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. She enjoys working with Dr. Merica and the rest of the Team every day. At home, she enjoys horses, her dog and cats, and spending time with her family. Robin has been a Dental Assistant for 10 years and looks forward to many years of helping patients and continuing her education.
Maria Davis | Dental Assistant
Maria is the youngest of 13 kids, 6 brothers/7 sisters. She was born and raised in Long Beach, Ca. and married her middle school sweetheart, Brian and they’ve been together for 30 yrs. They have three beautiful kids together, Lil Brian 27, Andrew 23, and Marley 18 and are a loving, close knit family and spend alot of time together. Maria loves attending church, the outdoors, BBQ’s, river days and sports.
She graduated from an accredited dental program in Anaheim, California in 1997. She’s been in the dental field 20 + years now and she ABSOLUTELY loves it!! Maria looks forward to helping patients with their oral health care and forming lasting friendships with them. She is very happy to be a part of such an amazing dental team!
